About Laura
Sleep is foundational to our health and wellbeing yet is something that more and more of us are struggling with in the modern day world. I'm passionate about restoring the alignment between our sleep physiology and lives. I'm an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist specialising in sleep and insomnia. With over 15 years experience in mental health and sleep, I support adults in rebuilding a healthier, more natural relationship with their sleep, without having to make huge changes or give up what they enjoy. My approach is grounded, compassionate and realistic - because life is busy and sleep advice needs to work in the real world. I use evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi/CBT-i) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Insomnia (ACTi/ACT-i) to help you understand how your sleep works, manage stress, anxiety and worries and adapt routines to create meaningful, lasting change. This isn't about chasing perfect sleep. It's about helping you feel calmer, more in control, and able to trust your sleep again.
A deep dive where we can fully explore your sleep and your life to align the two so that you can get the sleep you need. Prior to the one hour session I will ask you to complete a questionnaire and 2 week sleep diary which I will analyse. We will then talk through what's going on and look at practical strategies you can implement straight away and a longer term plan as required. You don’t have to be experiencing insomnia to benefit from this session; these strategies can help you develop more effective daytime routines based around your sleep physiology for enhanced overall health, wellbeing and productivity.
