About Nido Individual & Family Therapy
Nido Individual & Family Therapy is a group practice based in Southern California that centers sustainable, deeply ethical care for clients and therapists alike. Our relentless mission is to provide attentive, quality, accessible mental health care to all people. After 10+ years in the field, Sarah Finch, M.A. LMFT created Nido with this mission top of mind: a place that especially prioritizes the people our society often excludes. Coming from a range of identities, backgrounds, and circumstances, our therapists know firsthand what it’s like to navigate systems that were not built for us. At Nido, we believe in a future (and a present) where clients can receive accessible, high-quality, depth-oriented care and clinicians are thriving alongside them.
What this session offers
Build practical tools for navigating emotions, relationships, and daily life through a neurodivergent-affirming lens. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches skills for navigating big emotions, improving communication, and strengthening self-awareness. In this group designed for neurodivergent/neurocomplex folks (including but certainly not limited to those with Autism, BPD, ADHD, CPTSD, and more), we will adapt core skills from DBT to support neurodivergent needs, offer practical strategies, deepen self-understanding, and provide a supportive space that celebrates your whole self. Each session includes a check-in, a teaching portion, and time for discussion and practice. We’ll be guided by The Neurodivergent Friendly Workbook of DBT Skills by Sonny Jane Wise, which offers a radically inclusive and affirming approach to DBT by centering lived neurodivergent experiences and moving away from compliance-based models. Together, we’ll explore and practice skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, self-compassion, and awareness, all within an environment that fosters self-trust, curiosity, and empowerment. No specific diagnosis or previous experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy is needed to join. Anyone can benefit from this group, and all are welcome.
