I am a Colombian born living in Toronto for more than 20 years. My path into body-centered Gestalt therapy began long before I formally entered the field. In 1998, while building a successful career in computer science and corporate account management, I found myself increasingly disconnected—from my work, my joy, and ultimately my body. The physical pain I began to experience revealed what I already sensed internally: my life was out of alignment. This awakening set me on a decades-long journey of healing, presence, and embodied transformation. My first major turning point came through Biodanza, an integrative music-movement pedagogy she discovered in Colombia. The experience reawakened my vitality and clarified my desire to work directly with people through the wisdom of the body. After moving to Canada, I immersed myself in somatic disciplines, studying Zen Shiatsu at Kokoro Dojo, where I later became a supervisor, teaching assistant, and co-owner. Over the next several years I trained extensively in modalities such as medical qigong, craniosacral therapy, sotai, thai massage, and oriental breathing therapy. Through this deep engagement with embodied practice, I transformed own physical, emotional, and mental patterns—and opened my private practice in 2005. For nearly two decades, I have supported clients in relieving physical ailments, navigating emotional challenges, and making meaningful lifestyle shifts. My teaching experience expanded in 2012 when I joined the Acupuncture Program at Eight Branches College of Eastern Medicine, guiding students in developing presence, sensitivity, and skill in the art of touch. I later returned to Biodanza as a facilitator, completing her 3-year training in 2016 and offering group processes that support emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. Over time, I recognized that lasting healing emerges not only through conscious touch and movement but also through dialogue, relational presence, and the co-creation of awareness. This led me to train in Gestalt psychotherapy at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto and later to specialize in Gestalt coaching through the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, graduating in 2024. My body-centered approach to Gestalt therapy integrates somatic awareness, breath, movement, and strategic conversation, helping clients develop a felt sense of themselves and access their innate capacity for clarity, choice, and transformation. With a grounding in decades of embodied practice and a deep trust in the intelligence of the body-mind, I partner with clients to cultivate wellbeing, resilience, and meaningful change. I hold an ACC credential with the International Coaching Federation, a GPCC credential with the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, and is a certified Biodanza facilitator with the International Biodanza Federation and long-standing member of the Shiatsu Therapy Society.
